Hi Mountain Seasonings Celebrates 30th Anniversary

RIVERTON, Wyo. (May 18, 2021) ¾ This year marks the 30th anniversary of Hi Mountain Seasonings (HMS), America’s leading provider of meat and fish seasonings; jerky, sausage, and snackin’ stick kits; dressings & dips; and much more. How the company got there is a story of hard work and good ole American entrepreneurship.

The story of this great company has its early beginnings in Casper, Wyoming where Dean Clark, founder of Hi Mountain Seasonings, then a sophomore in the local high school worked at his father’s meat market, Clark’s Meat House. That year his father began teaching Dean the craft of cutting up sides of beef, whole hogs and wild game during Wyoming’s hunting season. Dean quickly perfected cutting prime cuts of meat,  and his passion for processing and seasoning meats was seeded.

Dean eventually founded Hi Mountain Seasonings in 1991. This small one-man company that started with just one product, The Original Jerky Cure & Seasoning, has since grown into a booming business with a staff of 40 and an expansive product line of more than 200 products under the leadership of Hans and Kimberly Hummel who purchased the company from Clark in 2003. At the time of the sale the company had five products in its line.

Still located in its founding hometown of Riverton, Wyoming, the company has expanded its headquarters from its original 12×24 foot office to include 28,000-square feet of space in four buildings with two satellite facilities.

“Since we purchased the company from Dean, we have held true to the principals that our customers come first and understanding their wants and needs is essential. That we must maintain the highest quality at all times and that our employees are our greatest asset. With that we will always be successful,” said the Hummels. “We are excited for what this year holds as we launch several very special Limited Edition items, as well as what the next 30 years will bring for Hi Mountain Seasonings, its staff and its customers.”
